About Us
St. Anne Church has been a strong Catholic presence
in the communities of East Hazel Crest and Hazel Crest
since 1911. We started as a mission church of St.
Joseph Catholic Church in Homewood, IL.
We became a parish of our own in 1949 when our
founding pastor, Fr. Sweeney, purchased the current
property which is now our parish office and rectory.
Before the church was built at it's current location,
Sunday Masses were held at a building on the corner of
172 and Loomis (East Hazel Crest), then moved to
171st Street and Wood (Hazel Crest), and in 1952 the
current church building were completed. Our current
pastor, Father Kevin came to St. Anne in 2005.
